In the framework of the co-operation between the two cities, the mayor of Norwalk State of Iowa, USA, Tom Phillips, with a large delegation from the US, is today visiting the city of Vushtrri.
Mayor Phillips and members of the City Council at the beginning of this visit were welcomed by the Mayor of Vushtrri, Xhafer Tahiri, who has informed the developments in the Municipality of Vushtrri.
The Vushtrri leader has announced Norwalk’s performance with Vushtrri’s development potentials in general, as well as investments being made in support of economic development. Bearing in mind that the city of Norwalk and Iowa are known for its highly developed agriculture, President Tahiri spoke with special emphasis on agriculture in Vushtrri and its great potentials, and focused on the cooperation between the two cities that students and students in Vushtrri grant the opportunity for education in the agricultural branches of the State of Iowa.
At the beginning of this cooperation with Vushtrri, Mayor Phillips expressed his satisfaction and optimism that the twinning between the two cities will be in the interest of the citizens of the two countries, as well as the sharing of good experiences between the local administration of the two cities.
During this meeting was discussed also about the concrete terms of cooperation within the twinning between the Municipality of Vushtrri and Norwalk.
During his stay in Vushtrri, the delegation from Iowa is visiting institutions, schools and well-known Vushtrri businesses, while in the evening is expected to be the official ceremony and the signing of the twinning agreement between the two cities as well as the Citizen’s Honorary Vushtrri Declaration of the Mayor of Norwalk Tom Phillips.
