Prishtina, Minister of Energy and Mines, Justina Shiroka – Pula symbolically took over the renovated ‘Toskana’ facilities from the Minister of Public Services Mr. Arsim Bajrami.
Both ministers were content with the successful realization of the plan for settling governmental institutions from rented spaces to public facilities, thus establishing sufficient spaces that adhere to certain standards and are suitable for effective and efficient work, and will significantly decrease budgetary expenses. This is aimed to implementing the decision of the Government of Republic of Kosovo regarding residential settlement of institutions.
Minister Pula used the occasion to state that now MEM has facilities that fulfill all conditions necessary for a functioning ministry, adding that to date this was the only ministry that operated in a private building and that this resettlement has derived as an outcome of respecting the Government decision.
She stated that the resettlement represents a step towards implementation of the Government decision for withdrawal of state institutions from private facilities, that would result in a lower operating cost, due to savings from costs dedicated to rent.
Minister Pula clarified that renovations of the ‘Toskana’ building were funded commonly by the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Ministry of Public Services.
Minister Bajrami said that the settlement of MEM in this facility is realized after a preliminary agreement was reached between the Government and KEK, according to which MEM doesn’t need to pay any rent.
This, according to Bajrami, will help the Government decrease expenses dedicated to rent.
Renovation of ‘Toskana’ is conducted as part of the Strategic Settlement Plan, drafted by the Department of Engineering and Building Management of MPS.
